Foundation for Fairplay

The greater Lake Charles area has some of the finest athletic programs in the state but the reality is that some are better equipped to complete due to their ability to attract greater financial support than others, whether they are generated via community/alumni/parent donors or from corporations or government set-a-sides. Foundation for Fairplay Fund (F3)provides a more level playing field in the areas of preventable injury needs such as acquiring quality football helmets, defibrillators, knee braces, training room and injury prevention equipment. Sports rehabilitation and workout equipment valued at thousands of dollars has also been donated to the high schools.

The Foundation for Fairplay [F3] was established by the Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial Health Syste to assist schools in the acquisition of health-related athletic needs. It is the goal of the Foundation for Fairplay to see that all student athletes are protected against potential injury and, when injuries do occur in school athletic programs, that they receive appropriate medical care.

More than $180,000 in grant applications and $58,000 in scholarships have been funded assisting schools and student athletes in the acquisition of health-related equipment needs with the goal of protecting student athletes against potential injury and providing appropriate medical care health issues arise.
