ARTS IN MEDICINE FUND
Memorial is a strong advocate of healing through the arts. It is an important
supplement to the medical care provided by our physicians and staff and
is proven to help the patient in the healing process as arts therapy.
The Arts in Medicine Fund provides the resources need to fund our Art for
the Soul program and has resulted in displaying over 750 Foundation-owned
art prints throughout our health system facilities. It also funds our
First Monday in the Atrium program, noted for featuring musicians from
the region in concert from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the first Monday

in creating an Artist in Residency Program which will pair local artists

acquire new technology and upgrade treatment areas with new chemotherapy
chairs for patients or educational materials to the community at large.

FOUNDATION FOR FAIRPLAY FUND [F3 FUND]
The F3 Fund [Foundation for Fairplay] began in 2013 as a means to raise
money dedicated to “providing a safe and level playing field”
for all high school student-athletes in the Calcasieu Parish area, both
private and public schools. The Foundation gives over $75,000 to area
high school athletics annually which fund proper and safe athletic equipment
and environments throughout the Parish. These projects have resulted in
fewer injuries to the young men and women who participate in high school
The Heart Fund supports the cardiovascular programs at Lake Charles Memorial
and the astounding changes cardiovascular medicine has undergone over
the past few decades. Whether it involves upgrading equipment in one of
our three cardiac catheterization labs, providing oversized digital monitors
in our operating rooms to enhance the surgical experience for our physicians
and their patients, or offering educational information about cardiovascular
disease and strokes to the general public, your one-time gift or pledge
extended over several years to the Heart Fund will help Memorial continue
the expansions of the heart program..
PINK & BLUE WALL FUND
The Pink & Blue Wall Fund enhances the neonatal program and birthing
center at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women which has grown to
be the leader in women's health services, in particular the Family
Birth Center. With this growth, comes additional revenue needs for equipment
such as new baby monitors; updated furnishings in the labor, delivery
and postpartum suites; or educational materials for expectant moms.
A special program designed to provide resources for the Family Birth Center,
The Pink & Blue wall is an opportunity for parents, grandparents,
relatives and friends to commemorate the birth of a baby while benefitting
Memorial Hospital for Women. For a $100 donation, the baby's name
and birth date will be placed on The Pink & Blue wall located in the
lobby of the Memorial Hospital for Women.
The Pink & Blue wall is not restricted to newborns at Memorial Hospital
for Women. Parents, grandparents, relatives or friends may commemorate
any child on the wall, whether or not they were born at Memorial. Pink
& Blue Wall Fund registration forms are available in the Family Birth
Center at the Women’s Campus
Memorial Health System trains three classes of eight primary care physicians
each year. Under the supervision of a LSU-based team of physician/instructors,
the program provides a hospital setting for the final year of training
for these fine young men and women which come from the U.S., Canada and
abroad to learn their medical skills. The Residents program is fully funded
by Memorial and the Residence Fund helps students with their living expenses
while in the program.
