Surgery & Procedures

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital offers the total spectrum of surgical services, including both minimally invasive outpatient and more acute inpatient procedures and surgeries in southwest Louisiana. We are committed to providing outstanding services in a comfortable, private and caring environment. Our highly trained surgeons and staff provide our patients with the most sophisticated and safe surgical treatments available. We offer nearly all surgical procedures, including:

GENERAL OR OPEN SURGERY- giving the surgery team a direct view and greater access to the surgical site.

LASER SURGERY- includes many types of surgery, but generally refers to precise treatment to affected areas that require pinpointing exact areas. With the use of laser technology, we are able to do numerous types of surgeries and procedures, sending patients home to recuperate in the privacy and comfort of their own surroundings.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY- provides optimal outcomes due to small incisions, a rapid healing process, shorter hospital stay and more rapid return to normal activities.

SAME DAY SURGERY - even though your stay with us may be a short one, we have streamlined the services into one centralized location for your convenience. From pre-admission to discharge, we have designed Same Day Surgery at Memorial Hospital with you in mind. We routinely perform same-day surgery for various orthopedic procedures, hernia repairs, and utilize endoscopy and laparoscopy in our same day surgery department.

INPATIENT SURGERY - For more acute illnesses, many times an inpatient stay is required after your surgical procedure. You can be assured that our dedicated staff will see that your stay is as comfortable and restful as possible while providing the care needed to get you on the road to recovery.

While many surgeries that are performed do not require stays in the hospital, there are many that do require spending one or several days in the hospital. It is reassuring to know that you will receive high quality, compassionate care in a hospital close to home.
