Memorial Wound Care announces New Co-Medical Director

George Barnes, Jr., MD, has been named the co-medical director for Lake Charles Memorial Wound Care. He joins Gerald Mouton, MD, who currently serves as medical director for the wound care center. Dr. Barnes is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of American College of Surgeons. Memorial Wound Care has been healing chronic wounds since 1991. We have successfully treated diabetic skin sores, pressure sores, vessel disease wounds, coccyx ulcers and poor circulation wounds.

Cascio Named to LHSAA Advisory Committee

Dr. Brett Cascio, an orthopaedic surgeon with Orthopaedic Specialists, a part of the Memorial Medical Group has been named to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.   The committee advises the LHSAA on athletic safety and injury prevention issues such as concussion prevention, diagnosis and treatment.  
Graham Named LHA Chair-Elect

Larry Graham, President and CEO of the Lake Charles Memorial Health System, has been named Chair-Elect of the Louisiana Hospital Association (LHA). Members of the LHA announced their 2014-2015 Board of Trustee Officers at their annual business meeting on July 21. Graham served as Treasurer on the 2013-2014 LHA Board of Trustees.

Robert Broussard, Manley Jordan, Gary Kohler and Ben Thompson on the staff of Pulmonary Associates of Southwest Louisiana, located at 2770 3rd Avenue, Suite 110 in Lake Charles. A member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society, Dr. Courville diagnoses and treats a variety of diseases and conditions of the chest including COPD, pneumonia, asthma, emphysema and other pulmonary and respiratory conditions.

Memorial Medical Group welcomes pediatrician Caroline Courville, MD, to their staff.  She will see patients at W.O. Moss Memorial Pediatric Clinic. Dr. Courville is a physician leader in asthma quality improvement and has done research in smoking cessation. She has given presentations on the effects of environmental tobacco smoke exposure.  She offers diagnosis and treatment of a variety of general pediatric conditions such as cold and flu, asthma, allergies, infections and minor injuries.
