Beginning Tuesday, April 23, Lake Charles Memorial Health System will once again offer free colorectal screening kits in an effort to help detect colorectal cancer at its earliest—and most treatable—stages. A non-invasive test that can be completed in the privacy of your home, the screening can identify hidden blood in stool samples, which is the first and in many cases the only warning sign of colorectal disease.

Jessica Carlson, a Lake Charles native with nearly 10 years of experience in the health care industry, recently joined the staff of Lake Charles Memorial Health System as Employer Health and Wellness Manager. In her position, Carlson will be responsible for implementing health and wellness programs not only for employees of Memorial, but for those of various local industries and businesses.
