Congressman Boustany to visit LCMH
U.S. Congressman Dr. Charles W. Boustany, Jr. will tour Lake Charles Memorial Hospital (LCMH) on Thursday, March 15 to discuss Memorial's vital role in community and the unique benefits the hospital brings to Southwest Louisiana.
One program in particular is Memorial’s Sports Medicine outreach program, which serves athletes at 22 high schools in a three parish area. The hospital provides trainers at every high school athletic game for the 22 high schools. If there is an injury, every athlete is treated, regardless of socioeconomic background, with prompt, expert service, including any required surgery.
Spanning three decades, this program is a very expensive one for LCMH, but it is a calling that the hospital leadership takes very seriously. It is one of many community services LCMH provides without financial support or gain.
Congressman Boustany is also a cardiovascular surgeon with more than 20 years of experience and is at the forefront of healthcare policy in Congress.
