Exercise Helps in Bone Development

Teen girls should get plenty of exercise, as well as adequate calcium in their diets, to promote healthy bones, according to research in 2004 in the Journal of Pediatrics. Physical exercise has a strong influence on bone development in adolescent girls, the study said. In addition to exercise, teens should get 1,300 mg of calcium each day in their diet.
