Stress Relievers
You can take steps to reduce the amount of stress in your life. Here are some ideas from the National Mental Health Association:
-
Learn to say no when you feel overwhelmed by your activities and responsibilities. It's OK to turn down requests for your time or to drop activities that aren't absolutely necessary.
-
Don't play superman or superwoman. You can't do everything, nor should you expect others to do so.
-
Take time to relax. Ten to 20 minutes of relaxation or quiet thought can ease stress.
-
Get regular exercise. Try 20 to 30 minutes of some kind of physical activity. It's good not only as stress reliever, but also for your physical health.
-
Tackle one task at a time. Sort through your "to do" list and find the one that's most urgent. When you finish that one, go to the next one on the priority list.
