Trigeminal Neuralgia Podcast
Severe facial pain that typically involves the lower face and jaw, and sometimes the area around the nose and above the eye, may be trigeminal neuralgia. Sometimes described as the most excruciating pain known to humanity, this intense, stabbing, electric shock-like pain is caused by irritation of the trigeminal nerve, which sends branches to the forehead, cheek, and lower jaw. While trigeminal neuralgia cannot always be cured, there are treatments available to alleviate the excruciating pain. Dr. Gregory Rubino, a board certified neurosurgeon on staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, discusses trigeminal neuralgia and possible treatment options.

For more information or to schedule an appointment with Dr. Rubino, call (337) 494-4720 or visit www.neurosurgicalinstitutelc.com.
