
Lake Charles Memorial Hospital grew out of the needs of the community in Southwest Louisiana, and it has continued to provide residents in this area with progressive, innovative and exceptional care for over 50 years. We know the reason we are here is to provide excellent medical care to our patients, to improve their quality of life, help them reach their goals and promote a lifestyle of wellness and healthy living to residents within our community and beyond.
We opened our doors in 1952 with a 100-bed not-for-profit hospital and experienced steady growth. By 1972, the hospital had expanded to include accommodations for 211 patients. A 10-story patient tower was added in 1980, greatly increasing the range of services offered. The hospital has continued to add specialized services, advances in medical technology, and outreach programs in response to community need and in an effort to offer patients the latest innovations in medical treatment.
Today, we are licensed for 324 beds on our Oak Park campus, and we offer specialized services off-site, including our Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women as well as Extended Care. Our services have grown to include:
We are the region's largest family-centered medical complex, serving the healthcare needs of Southwest Louisiana. LCMH is locally-owned and operated by a Board of Trustees from the community it serves. The hospital is a shareholder of Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA) and is fully licensed by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.CEO Larry Graham joined Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in 2006, bringing more than 28 years of experience in healthcare administration, most recently with Methodist Hospital in New Orleans.
