Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is the region's largest family-centered medical complex, serving the healthcare needs of Southwest Louisiana. LCMH is locally-owned and operated by a Board of Trustees from the community it serves. The hospital is a shareholder of Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA) and is fully licensed by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. CEO Larry Graham joined Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in 2006, bringing more than 28 years of experience in healthcare administration, most recently with Methodist Hospital in New Orleans.
Lake Charles Memorial Hospital unveiled a new re-branding campaign in June 2007, complete with a new logo of four interlocking hearts exemplifying the hospital's rededicated mission of service, commitment, compassion and community. We Are Memorial: Everything Your Healthcare Should Be is our mantra reflecting the hope, passion and dedication Memorial has for improving and servicing the healthcare needs of Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas.
The only full-service, not-for-profit, locally-owned healthcare system in Lake Charles, Memorial was established in 1952 and consists of a 391-bed acute care hospital, with a 324-bed facility at the main campus on Oak Park Boulevard, Memorial Hospital for Women, a 38-bed women's facility at Gauthier and Nelson Roads, and a 29-bed long term acute care facility. While we continue to be the healthcare market leader in the Lake Charles region, in 2006, Memorial began steps to reinvest in its commitment to our community with a new brand identity and continuing into 2007 with the rebranding of its women's facility as Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women. This, coupled with the internal launch of our service excellence employee program, We Are Memorial, serves as a new rededication for improving and expanding patient care, while increasing patient satisfaction scores and instilling internal pride and a sense of purpose among hospital employees.
We are Memorial. Everything your healthcare should be.
