Johnnie Kleinschmidt Now Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner

Johnnie Kleinschmidt is a physical therapist at Lake Charles Memorial Health System. She received her degree in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee. She has worked in many disciplines of physical therapy including orthopedics, sports medicine, acute care, rehab, pediatrics, geriatrics and wound care, eventually limiting her practice to pelvic floor physical therapy.

Memorial Medical Group welcomes Linda Huynh, MD, an obstetrician and gynecologist, to their staff.  She will join fellow OB/GYNs Drs. Gisele McKinney and Dr. Joseph Semien at their practice located at 1890 West Gauthier Road, Suite 135. Dr. Huynh provides women with a full spectrum of obstetric and gynecological care such as pelvic health, family planning, pregnancy, menopause, urinary tract disorders and operative gynecology.  
Memorial Sports Medicine Receives Partner in Tourism Award

Two individuals with Lake Charles Memorial Sports Medicine recently received the Partner in Tourism Award from the Lake Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Partner in Tourism Award is given to individuals that go above and beyond to help bring in visitors to SWLA. Aaron McDonald, an athletic trainer with Lake Charles Memorial and Jamey Rasberry, Director of Sports Medicine at Lake Charles Memorial received the award. 
Memorial’s Cancer Center Receives National Achievement Award

The Lake Charles Memorial Cancer Center was recently granted the Commission on Cancer (CoC) Outstanding Achievement Award for 2013. Memorial is one of 74 cancer programs in the United States and the only cancer program in Louisiana, surveyed in 2013, to receive the award.
Memorial Hospital Foundation Honors Students at the Daffodil Tea

The Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital recently honored local seniors for their accomplishments in the six art disciplines. The recognition took place at The Daffodil Tea event at L’Auberge Casino Resort.   “The Daffodil Tea is a unique event intended to pair support for the Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund with a parish wide competition that identifies and awards scholarships to talented high school seniors intending to further their artistic skills in a college and/or private setting upon graduation,” says Leif Pedersen, Senior Vice President of Philanthropy at Memorial.
