Volunteers Donate $110,000 to LCMH
The Volunteer Auxiliary at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital (LCMH) recently donated $110,000 back to the hospital. The money comes from sales at the hospital gift shop and goes towards the purchase equipment for LCMH.
Since 1968, the LCMH Volunteer Auxiliary has donated more than $1.77 million to the hospital.
The Auxiliary has also donated $41,000 since 1988 to the Aileen and Hazel Dyer Scholarship Fund. The fund is a medical scholarship fund that was established as a memorial. Three $1,500 scholarships are awarded to McNeese State University students each semester.
The scholarship money is made possible through various fundraisers the Volunteer Auxiliary holds each year.
The Volunteer Auxiliary is open to anyone age 18 and over of all backgrounds and abilities. For more information, contact Volunteer Services at 337-494-3213 or www.lcmh.com/volunteer.
