Cutting-Edge, Microsurgical Treatment for Hand Injuries Is Now Available at Orthopaedic Specialists
The physician group at Orthopaedic Specialists continues to expand its services with the addition of Lawrence Weber, MD, PhD, orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Weber brings a unique medical expertise to southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas with minimally-invasive and arthroscopic treatment and reconstruction of the hand for acute trauma, arthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, congenital disorders, and nerve compression disorders.
A graduate of Weil Cornell University Medical College in New York, New York, Dr. Weber was fellowship-trained at the University of Pennsylvania Health Care System in Philadelphia in complex Shoulder, Elbow and Hand Surgery. Prior to his specialization in hand surgery, he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine / North Shore University Hospital–Long Island Jewish Health Care System.
Dr. Weber’s is actively involved in the education of other surgeons, fellows and residents, having presented his hand surgery research at numerous regional and national meetings. He is a candidate member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association for Hand Surgery, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. In 2006, he was awarded the American Society for Surgery of the Hand's Joseph H. Boyes Award, a prestigious honor bestowed on the nation’s best research in hand surgery.
