An orthopedic surgeon and medical director of Memorial Hospital's Sports Medicine Program, David Drez, Jr., MD, joins Orthopaedic Specialists with Drs. Nathan Cohen and Dennis Walker.
Dr. Drez graduated from Tulane University Medical School, and completed his internship and general surgery and orthopedic surgery residencies at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He completed additional residencies at Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, and the U.S. Public Health Hospital before returning to the lake area. He is certified and recertified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He is also a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics at LSU School of Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. In recognition of his contribution to the education of Louisiana’s orthopedic specialists, the Dr. David Drez Chair in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine was dedicated at LSU in June 2006.
