Diabetes is a disease that affects over 20.8 million people in this country.

Finding out that you have the diabetes can be a shock, but learning it can be effectively managed is the first step in taking back control of your health.

The Diabetes Education Center of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital offers people with diabetes the education and support they need to get healthy and avoid the serious complications that can be associated with the disease.

Successful management of diabetes takes a team effort, involving the patient, their family, their physician and the specially trained staff at the Diabetes Education Center.

The Center offers:

  • Comprehensive diabetes education
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Blood sugar screening
  • Lifestyle management

Our staff includes Certified Diabetes Educators and a Registered Dietitian. Services are available on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
