Lake Charles Memorial offers transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) with the Edwards SAPIEN 3 valve. This procedure is approved for use in patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis when open heart surgery would be too high of a risk. Our multi-disciplinary heart team consisting of interventional cardiologist Edward Bergen, MD take a rigorous approach to patient care through our Valve Clinic. With the innovative procedures we are utilizing in treating aortic valve disease, including balloon aortic valvuloplasty (BAV) and TAVR, patients can have an enriched and improved quality of life.
