Dr. Archer Donates to Memorial for New Psychiatric Hospital

The Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial Health system would like to recognize Dr. Dale Archer, Jr, Psychiatrist, for his major donation towards a new psychiatric hospital that will be part of Lake Charles Memorial Health System. Plans for the new facility are in the early stages and it will be named to honor Dr. Archer's legacy as a leader and mental health advocate in SWLA.

His commitment to improving mental health services is exemplified through his written work as a New York Times bestselling author and as a national television expert and spokesperson, as well as through his long-time affiliation with Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

He began his Lake Charles psychiatric practice in 1987 and was the founder of Lake Charles Memorial's inpatient psychiatric program in 1988 and he has been the Psychiatric Medical Director since that time. Dr. Archer's father has also been a major influence on improving the healthcare in Lake Charles. Dr. Dale Archer, Sr., an ophthalmologist, was the founder of The Eye Clinic.
