Nursing Seminar: Preserving the Opportunity for Donation: A Collaborative Effort

This seminar is targeted to all nurses from a critical care setting. Topics include clinical triggers, nurses role, types of organ donors and catastrophic brain injury guidelines. The purpose of this activity is to enable the RN to activate early initiation of CBIG’s to preserve opportunity for donation, therefore, increasing organs per donor transplanted. The use of LOPA as the designated requestor will decrease our untrained hospital approach rate, therefore, increasing the number of consented organ donors.

This activity has been approved for 1 contact hour by Louisiana State Nurses Association. Louisiana State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Please contact Kristy Denison at (337) 494-3116 or kdenison@lcmh.com to register.
