Here are some of the great things happening at Memorial:

• Our newly opened state-of-the-art 15,102 sq ft. Intensive Care Unit is located on
  the 9th Floor of the main campus and our existing, 10,180 sq. ft. on 3rd floor will be
  renovated giving our patients the largest critical care unit in southwest Louisiana
  with a total of 32-beds when completed
• Our Emergency Department expansion will double our capacity to 36 beds, including
  an 8-bed mental health triage area, fast-track, telestroke and trauma services and
  digital CT scan area
• The newly opened Memorial Urgent Care located within our new office building on
  Nelson Road provides fast, quality care for non-life threatening conditions 7-days-aweek
  with a special Saturday morning sports injury clinic
• The current construction of phase I of our inpatient psychiatric hospital on our
  south Lake Charles campus will have 42-beds when completed in 2017

More than 90 primary care and specialty physicians–of our 300+ medical staff–are employed by Memorial along with 40 nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Our short and long term goals have been developed based on the expected growth of our community.
