Memorial Medical Group Welcomes Darin Doumite, MD, a board-certified and fellowship-trained general surgeon to its staff. He joins fellow surgeons Amanda Ellington, MD, Thomas Rossowski, MD and Richard Shimer, MD at Memorial Medical Group Surgery & Trauma.
Dr. Doumite received his bachelors from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and his medical degree from St. Matthews University. His postgraduate training includes an internship and residency in general surgery both at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport.
He brings specialized skills in advanced laparoscopic, minimally invasive, surgical procedures including complex hernia repairs, gastric and colorectal cancer, and gallbladder disease. Other areas of interest include surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disease.
Prior to joining Memorial Medical Group, Dr. Doumite worked as a trauma surgeon at Lafayette General Medical Center. He also spent five years as a general surgeon at Jennings American Legion Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
