Dr. Ellington is board-certified in general surgery with a focus in surgical breast disease. A primary component of her surgical practice involves breast biopsies and tumor excisions of the breast. She is an active member of the Memorial Cancer Committee, a weekly meeting of Memorial's Cancer Services team that addresses cancer patients progress and treatment using a multi-specialty team approach.

In addition, she is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Isidore Cohn, Jr. – James D. Rivers Surgical Society and the John C. McDonald Surgical Society.
