Geriatric Behavioral Health in Lake Charles

Mental Health Counseling For Seniors

Senior adults face more unique, medically complex problems specific to their age group. Whether it's brought on by dementia, medications or other chronic conditions, many older adults benefit from individual and group sessions as well as medication adjustments, when appropriate. The Geriatric Psychiatric Health team works together with families and caregivers to assure the highest quality of care from admission to discharge.

The Geriatric Unit consists of 31 beds with specialized inpatient services focusing on the unique needs faced by adults as they age. The program provides goal oriented-intensive individualized care focusing on both psychiatric and medical needs. Our interdisciplinary team works hand in hand with families and caregivers to assure the highest quality of care from admission to discharge. The average length of stay is 10 - 14 days.

Mental health evaluations are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you believe you or a loved one may need behavioral health care, call or walk in anytime for a free and confidential assessment with one of Archer Institute’s mental health professionals.
