Whether it's brought on by dementia, medications or other chronic conditions, many older adults benefit from individual and group sessions as well as medication adjustments, when appropriate. Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatric Health, located on the 10th Floor of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital on Oak Park Avenue, works together with families and caregivers to assure the highest quality of care from admission to discharge.

This Unit consists of 31 beds with specialized inpatient services focusing on the unique medical needs faced by adults as they age. The program provides goal oriented-intensive individualized care focusing on both psychiatric and medical needs. Our interdisciplinary team works hand-in-hand with families and caregivers to assure the highest quality of care from admission to discharge. The average length of stay is 10 - 14 days.
