A laborist is a certified OB/GYN who is dedicated to delivering babies and responding to OBGYN emergencies. Laborists provide a vital service to support your OBGYN during the labor process, enhancing patient safety and improving outcomes.

Laborists step in when called upon by other OB/GYN s who are navigating their time between overseeing labor and delivery, performing gynecological surgeries, and seeing patients in their clinic. Laborists do not schedule patient appointments, their task is to lend a helping hand when needed. Experienced laborists, like Dr. Darbonne, ensures that mothers will receive the highest level of compassionate and expert care during the labor process. Having a full-time laborist on staff in one of southwest Louisiana's premier birthing facilities continues mission of providing comprehensive care to women, mothers and babies in our community.
