Located in Medical Office Building I (MOB) of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Memorial Surgery and Trauma offers the total spectrum of surgical services, including both minimally invasive outpatient and more acute inpatient procedures and surgeries in southwest Louisiana.
Our highly trained surgeons and staff provide our patients with the most sophisticated surgical treatments, with safety as their top priority. LCMHS offers most surgical procedures, including but not limited to robotic-assisted surgery, minimally invasive surgery, same-day surgery and inpatient surgery.
Dr. Shimer serves as the trauma medical director at Memorial Hospital, the area’s only designated Level II Trauma Center. He specialized in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy and trauma surgery.
Dr. Shimer’s office is in the Internal Medicine clinic in the hospital’s MOB I, accessible through the Atrium. Patients can use one of the many parking areas available, but the most convenient is in the hospital’s parking garage. From that point, the office can be accessed by passing through the automatic doors next to the parking garage. The clinic is located across from Café' Bon Vie.
For convivence, patients can have their prescriptions filled at the Medical Plaza Pharmacy, located on the first floor of Medical Office Building II (MOB II) and to the right of the automatic doors. A draw station lab and restroom are on the first floor and left of main doors of MOB II.
