Devon Hyde Devon Hyde


Devon Hyde serves as President and CEO of Lake Charles Memorial Health System. He assumed the role on April 12, 2021, and is the fifth CEO of Memorial since opening in 1952.

Mr. Hyde came to Memorial with 15 years of executive healthcare management experience having led both for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals and medical centers throughout the United States. He served as the CEO of Presbyterian Hospital, the largest acute care hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Prior to that, he was the CEO at AllianceHealth Deaconess in Oklahoma City, and the Chief Operating Officer at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa and Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, respectively.

Mr. Hyde has a degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University. He is a member of, American College of Healthcare Executives and the Institute of Healthcare Executives and Suppliers.

Manley Jordan, MD Manley Jordan

Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs/CMO/Corporate Compliance Officer

Dr. Manley Jordan, board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, had been a practicing pulmonary physician since 1989 and joined Pulmonary Associates, a part of the Memorial Medical Group, in 2004. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

As CMO of Memorial Health System, he is instrumental in aligning clinical best practices across all affiliated hospitals, clinics and physician practices and responsible for decisions relating to clinical quality assurance. He also works closely with system administrators to develop and assess quality metrics used to strategically drive excellence in the delivery of health care at Memorial and assist in the continued pursuit of building a strong, cohesive medical team and a better patient experience.

Gerald Bryant, DNS, MSN, RN Gerald Bryant

Executive Vice President of Nursing/CNO; Interim COO

Gerald Bryant serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Memorial. He previously served as Vice President of Patient Care Services at Memorial in the early 2000s.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana Monroe. His post-graduate training includes a Masters of Science in Nursing from McNeese State University and a Doctororate of Nursing from Texas Tech Health Science Center.

Bryant has more than 15 years of operational and clinical senior executive leadership experience. Before returning to Memorial in 2019, he served as the Chief Nursing Officer for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and Clinics in Temple, TX. He was named the Texas Hospital Association/Texas Organization Nurse Executive of the Year in 2019. Bryant is a board certified nurse executives and a member of American College of Healthcare Executive and American Organization of Nurse Executives.

Kathleen DeRouen Kathleen DeRouen

Executive Vice President of Marketing

Kathy DeRouen served as Senior Vice President of Marketing beginning in 2007 and is responsible for directing the facility's marketing communications, consumer awareness, service line strategy, community outreach, employee and employer wellness and corporate health solutions. Ms. DeRouen brings more than 30 years of marketing and public relations experience to the position, having served as Director of Marketing for Ochsner Health System and Director of Marketing & Public Relations for Universal Health Service’s New Orleans market hospitals, Chalmette Medical Center and Methodist Hospital.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University School of Journalism and graduate education from the University of New Orleans Masters Degree Program in Business Administration, she has been involved in numerous professional and civic organizations during her career. In particular, she is a member of the American Hospital Association’s Society for Healthcare Strategy and Marketing and the Louisiana Hospital Association’s Society for Marketing and Public Relations.

Leif Pedersen Leif Pedersen

Senior Vice President of Philanthropy

Prior to joining Memorial, Leif Pedersen served as Vice President of Louisiana Medical Center & Heart Hospital in Lacombe, Louisiana, where he was responsible for marketing, physician relations and managed care oversight. He also served as Chief Development Officer for Methodist Health System in New Orleans and was instrumental in obtaining over $23 million in gifts for the Methodist Foundation during his 18 year tenure. He joined Memorial in 2008 and re-established Memorial’s Foundation. Due to his efforts, the health system has garnered numerous donor gifts and funding.

In his “past life” Pedersen traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad as the featured vocalist with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra for more than 6 years and had his own night club act for an additional 8 years. In 1998, he was inducted into the Southeastern Louisiana University Music Hall of Fame and currently leads his own 14-piece orchestra, The 1944 Big Band.

Jason Rashall Jason Rashall

Executive Vice President of Physician Services

Jason Rashall joined Lake Charles Memorial Health System as Vice President of Business Development in August 2013. He is responsible for various employed physician practices, sports medicine services and OB Care clinic.

Mr. Rashall is a native of Lake Charles and a 1993 graduate of McNeese State University. He also achieved a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Louisiana State University in 1997.

Prior to joining Memorial, Mr. Rashall served as Vice President of Physician Alignment for CHRISTUS St. Patrick Medical Group in Lake Charles. He was also the Vice President of Operations at Medical Provider Services, Inc. in Lake Charles and Regional Director of Managed Care for IASIS Healthcare Corporation’s Texas region. Mr. Rashall has worked in the medical field since 1997.

Bernita Loyd Brown Bernita Loyd Brown

Vice President/Moss Memorial Health Clinic Administrator

In her role as Administrator for Moss Memorial, Mrs. Brown oversees the day-to-day operations of that campus including outpatient clinics and specialty services. She also is responsible for overseeing and monitoring all aspects of emergency preparedness.

Ms. Loyd Brown joined Memorial in 1990 as a clinical dietician. During her tenure she has also served as a Vice President of Support Services, Director of Nutritional Services and Assistant Vice President of Business Development.

A graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition, and McNeese State University in Lake Charles with a Masters in Business Administration, Ms. Loyd is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Donna Shields, RN Donna Shields, RN

Vice President of Patient Care Services

Donna Shields joined Memorial in October 2007 as Vice President of Patient Care Services. She is a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Ms. Shields began her nursing career at Chalmette General Hospital, which subsequently became Chalmette Medical Center. Over her 35 year tenure, she has held a variety of clinical positions in nursing, case management, and as unit director. She was Chief Nursing Officer for 17 years at Chalmette Medical Center until 2005. She was Chief Nursing Officer at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas until joining Memorial in 2007.

Vice President of Human Resources

Wendy Fournet serves as Vice President of Human Resources for Memorial. Since 2018, Mrs. Fournet is responsible for directing all human resources functions such as recruitment, benefits, and employee policies.

Mrs. Fournet brings more than 12 years of human resources management experience to Memorial. She was the Chief Administrative Officer for eQHealth Solutions, and prior to that she was the company’s Chief Human Resource Officer. Fournet is the former Corporate Director of Human Resources for Burrow Global, LLC, Executive Director of Human Resources for US Anesthesia Partners at St. Lukes and Director of Human Resources for CHRISTUS Louisiana Health System.

Mrs. Fournet received her Bachelors degree in History from Lamar University in Beaumont. She went on to obtain a Masters in Human Resources/Leadership Development from Louisiana State University and is a PhD candidate in Human Resources/Leadership Development from Louisiana State University. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management.

Dawn Johnson-Hatcher Dawn Johnson-Hatcher

Vice President of Finance; Interim Chief Financial Officer

Dawn Johnson-Hatcher serves as the Vice President of Finance for Memorial. She comes to Memorial with more than 25 years of healthcare financial experience.

Prior to joining Memorial, Ms. Johnson-Hatcher served as the Chief Financial Officer for CHRISTUS Lake Area Hospital. She has also served as the Assistant Chief Financial Officer and Financial Security Officer for Northwest Medical Center Oro Valley and Assistant Chief Financial Officer of El Dorado Hospital both located in Tucson, Arizona. She holds a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Phoenix in Tucson.

Alesha Alford, RN Alesha Alford

Vice President/Administrator of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women

Alesha Alford serves as Vice President and Administrator of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women. She is responsible for strategic planning and day-to-day operations at Memorial for Women.

Mrs. Alford has held positions in clinical and administrative areas. At Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria she served as a nurse manager in labor and delivery. Prior to that, she worked at Memorial as a shift nurse and staff leader from 2009 to 2012.

Mrs. Alford is a two-time graduate of McNeese State University. She holds Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor in General Studies.

Vice President of Quality & Safety

Robbin Odom is the Vice President of Safety & Quality for Memorial. She came to Memorial in 2019 with more than 25 years of nurse executive experience and is responsible for infection control, nurse education, safety, and quality regulations.

Before coming to Memorial, Ms. Odom served as an Administrator and Vice President of Ancillary Services at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital. She previously held the titles of Interim CEO and Chief Nursing Officer while at Lake Area.

Ms. Odom is a registered nurse who has an Associate Degree in Nursing from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. She also holds a Bachelor’s in Health Administration from Kennedy Western University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) by the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety.
