Shared Governance - From unit-based councils to our organization-wide council infrastructure, shared governance provides bedside leaders the vehicle for a true voice in nursing practice and operations. Our basic philosophy when making decisions about nursing and nurses is to make sure we have the right bedside nurses at the table to help make decisions.

New Grad Residency Program - A one year “transition to practice” evidence-based program designed to support the novice nurse and engage in the profession at a higher level…not to be confused with orientation. The curriculum focuses on quality, patient safety, informatics, communication, evidence-based practice, self care and mindfulness.

Internships/Fellowships - Internships are designed for novice nurses as they enter a nursing specialty. Our internships are evidence-based and designed based on nursing specialty recommendations. Fellowships are designed for experienced nurses who are changing their specialty. The fellowships acknowledge a nurse’s experience and knowledge, while building their knowledge and skills for their new clinical role/specialty.

Tuition Reimbursement - Advancing nursing education is a national recommendation for the profession and in supporting that recommendation and the needs of society, Memorial provides tuition reimbursement support after one year.

Certified Nursing Support - Certified nursing is the hallmark of an expert nurse within their specialty. Certification preparation support, certification reimbursement and differentials are available for our certified and certified eligible RNs.

Evidence-Based Nurse Staffing - We believe nurse staffing should reflect the national recommendations for a specialty, nursing experience, nursing skill mix and patient acuity/activity. Our charge nurses are empowered to make staffing decisions that support their teams. Our goal is to provide reasonable nurse/patient ratios such that nurses are able to spend quality time with their patients and practice in a fulfilling manner.

Nursing Safety - Memorial is a big support of #HospitalSafetyZones. Studies suggest that half of all verbal and physical assaults by patients against healthcare workers are never reported. Violence is not part of the job. Report all incidents of verbal and physical abuse and help us make hospitals safe zones.

Nursing Excellence - Memorial is currently working towards The Magnet Recognition which designates organizations a designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) that recognizes nursing excellence. ANCC claims that Magnet hospitals have higher percentages of satisfied nurses, lower RN turnover and vacancy, higher patient satisfaction, and improved clinical outcomes. We are confident that will attain this certification in the near future.

Flexible Schedules - Whether you are looking for a full time or part time role in nursing, if you are an experienced nurse we will work with you to find the schedule that fits our needs and your life.
