Memorial Recognized as Forbes Top Hospital 2026

Lake Charles Memorial Health System has been recognized as a 5-Star Top Hospital on Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 list, and the only 5-Star Top Hospital in the state! The announcement was released on December 4, 2025, and can currently be viewed on Forbes website.

Forbes Top Hospitals formally, the Forbes Overall Hospital Quality Ratings (FOHQR) – are based on validated and objective indicators of (1) outcomes, (2) best practices, (3) value and (4) patient experience. Designed to provide consumers with unbiased information to help them choose the best hospital for their healthcare needs, the primary 56 publicly reported quality measures used in their evaluation, came from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Provider Data Catalog (PDC).

2,544 acute care hospitals across the nation met Forbes eligibility requirements to be evaluated, with 253 hospitals earning an overall rating of 5-Stars and 509 hospitals earning 4-Stars, totaling 762 hospitals that made Forbes inaugural Top Hospital 2026 list. Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is recognized as the only hospital in Louisiana to earn a 5-Star rating!
