Lake Charles Memorial Health System welcomes Rozaleen Phaltas, MD, FAAP, Pediatric Intensivist, to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
Prior to pursuing medical school Dr. Phaltas received undergraduate degrees in both Psychology and Respiratory Therapy. She went on to earn her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica West Indies. Her postgraduate training includes a residency in Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Hospital in Mobile, AL, and a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Buffalo, Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo, NY.
Dr. Phaltas is board certified through the American Board of Pediatrics. She has extensive medical experience in the fields of pharmacy, respiratory therapy, polysomnography, pediatric emergency and hospital medicine, and as a pediatric critical care physician. She spent a year as a hospitalist at Boston Children's in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and as an Assistant Professor working with residents and fellow physicians. She has been living out her passion as a Pediatric Critical Care physician for several years.
She is looking forward to caring for the children of southwest Louisiana.
