Brian W. Stewart, MD Joins Lake Charles Memorial Health System

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is pleased to welcome Brian W. Stewart, MD, a board-certified family medicine physician, to its medical staff. A familiar and trusted name in the Sulphur community, Dr. Stewart joins Memorial with more than two decades of experience providing comprehensive care for families across southwest Louisiana.

Dr. Stewart has cared for generations of patients in Sulphur since opening his practice in 1997 alongside his longtime colleague, Dr. Jose Gonzales. A graduate of McNeese State University and Louisiana State University School of Medicine, he completed his residency at University Medical Center in Lafayette before returning home to begin his career in family medicine.
Known for his personable approach and attentive bedside manner, Dr. Stewart provides compassionate, patient-focused care built on trust and clear communication. He takes time to understand each patient’s concerns and guide them through their treatment options, emphasizing preventive care and long-term wellness.

Dr. Stewart will continue to see patients at his clinic located at 2509 Maplewood Dr. in Sulphur, now named Memorial Family Medicine - Sulphur. Established and new patients can call 337.625.0341 for an appointment.
