Jose M. Gonzales, MD Joins Lake Charles Memorial Health System

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is pleased to welcome Jose M. Gonzales, MD, a board-certified family medicine physician to its medical staff. Dr. Gonzales brings a trusted name and long-standing commitment to Memorial’s growing healthcare services, having practiced in Sulphur alongside his business partner Dr. Brian Stewart for over 20 years.

A longtime Sulphur resident, Dr. Gonzales received his undergraduate degree at McNeese State University and continued his education to earn his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his residency at University Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana and then began his career as a family medicine physician in Sulphur in 1997.

Recognized for the strong rapport he builds, Dr. Gonzales provides thorough, patient-centered care inspired by his commitment to fitness and healthy living. He treats a range of chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension and heart disease, and encourages patients to make sustainable lifestyle choices that support long-term wellness through education and shared decision-making.
