In the last several years, the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine has gained a great deal of attention and support because of its ability to prevent various strains of HPV – which is the leading cause of squamous cell cervical cancer, and a contributing cause to various other forms of cancer in women.

To learn more about the facts of HPV, the HPV vaccine and its effectiveness in cancer prevention, joinDr. Andrew Rogall, a family medicine resident with the Memorial/LSUHSC Family Medicine Center, for HPV Prevention and You, a free seminar.

Dr. Rogall is a native of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He received his undergraduate degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, and then went on to receive his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba in the Caribbean. He is now completing his residency in the Memorial/LSUHSC Family Medicine Residency Program.

HPV Prevention and You is a free seminar being held at 12 noon on Friday, May 26, in the Shearman Conference Center at Memorial Hospital on Oak Park Boulevard. Light lunch will be provided, and reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.
