Free Seminar: A New Start for Every Heart
About This Event
- Event Type:Seminar
Aortic stenosis occurs when calcium builds up within the aortic valve, limiting the valve’s ability to open and close. The advancement of aortic stenosis cannot be medically reversed or stopped, but requires surgical intervention to treat. Surgical aortic valve replacement via open heart surgery is an effective treatment, but isn’t suitable for all patients.
Fortunately, the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure is available as a less invasive option for patients considered to be intermediate or high risk for open heart surgery. To learn more about aortic stenosis, as well as TAVR, please join Dr. Edward Bergen, Dr. Gregory Lugo and Dr. Christopher Thompson for their lecture.
