A stroke can be a catastrophic event in a person’s life. Once the stroke is over, though, the journey is only just started. Before life can return to normalcy, patients often need help re-learning how to walk, feed themselves, and other everyday activities we often take for granted. In this month’s ONLINE ONLY seminar by Alyson Jones, MD, Stroke Recovery: Beginning with the First Step, on Friday, May 29, Dr. Jones will discuss rehabilitation after a major stroke and how rehab is often the most challenging and important step in stroke recovery.

Dr. Jones received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Southern Mississippi and her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She went on to complete an internship in internal medicine at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.

Dr. Jones specializes in inpatient care in the rehabilitation setting to a multitude of diagnosis including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic diagnosis. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
