Online Seminar: Mental Health and Crises

About This Event

  • Event Type:Seminar
Details:

Before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. were diagnosed with a mental health disease. Now the number of Americans seeking help to improve mental health is higher than ever. Southwest Louisiana, in particular, is facing a unique set of circumstances following natural disasters in addition to the pandemic. There are many resources and treatments for managing your mental health, but beginning the conversation with a professional is the first step to mental wellness.

Family Medicine Specialist Ben Groves, DO, will discuss medications, screenings, and ways to address mental health
with your doctor at this month’s online seminar. Dr. Groves has a degree in biology from the University of Mississippi. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. His post-graduate training includes a family medicine residency at Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, Virginia, where he served as Chief Resident. Before moving to Lake Charles, he worked at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, North Carolina.

Dr. Groves is accepting new patients and same day appointments at 2750 Aster Street in Lake Charles. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 337.480.8900.
