Live and on Call for You: The ABCs of Safe Sleep

About This Event

  • Event Type:Virtual Event
Details:

Ensuring a safe sleep environment for your baby will put your mind at ease and allow you and your baby to sleep peacefully at night. Dr. Stephanie Treme, a pediatrician with the Children’s Clinic of SWLA, will be live and “on call” for you to talk about best practices for safe sleep with your little ones.

Approximately 3,500 infants die annually in the United States from sleep-related infant deaths, including SIDS and accidental suffocation while sleeping. To promote Safe Sleep Awareness Month in October, Dr. Treme will join Lake Charles Memorial for an episode of Live and On Call to give advice, from a medical perspective, about how to keep infants safe while sleeping and help educate parents or caregivers to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related causes of infant deaths.

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women has been designated a Gold Safe Sleep Champion by the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program. It is the highest designation offered by the program. Memorial for Women is the first infant safe sleep certified hospital in Louisiana.
