Meet Adaobi Umeaku, MD
Dr. Adaobi Umeaku is a board-certified internal medicine physician who serves as a hospitalist at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, treating and caring for patients who are admitted to the hospital.
Dr. Umeaku is a graduate of Texas A&M University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and her medical degree at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. She then continued her medical training with an internal medicine residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey.
Before her Medical Education and training, Dr. Umeaku taught AP High School Chemistry and coached Freshman Cheerleading in Dallas, Texas.
Throughout her education and medical training, she engaged in extensive medical research, quality improvement projects, and volunteered to address health disparities while promoting preventive medicine in her community.
Dr. Umeaku is a Member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the Association of Black Cardiologists.
