Memorial's Trauma Center Hosts Trauma Symposium for Healthcare Professionals

Lake Charles Memorial Health System, the region's only Level III Trauma Center, presents the largest educational gathering of healthcare trauma professionals in the region on November 9, 2023 at L’Auberge Casino Resort. The event will take place from 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with over 200 medical professionals to be in attendance.

By better equipping nurses, physicians, EMS providers, and other allied healthcare professionals responsible for the provision of trauma care, members of the community will continue to receive the best care possible from healthcare professionals in SWLA.

The event will consist of compelling educational information while focusing on achieving best outcomes, navigating obstacles, and providing an opportunity to interact with experts who practice trauma care and train trauma providers.

The symposium will feature keynote speaker, and esteemed "Tik Tok Doctor," Dennis Kim, MD, Clinical Professor of Surgery at The University of British, Columbia and Medical Director of Trauma Services at Vancouver Island Health Authority. Dr. Kim's presentation will focus on Non-Compressible Torso Hemorrhage & the Evolving Role of REBOA.

This event is presented by PEMM, Professional Emergency Medicine Management, the emergency medicine physician group servicing Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. PEMM is a supporter of the Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital's Trauma Fund and a major pillar providing quality emergency care to the community.
