Program Director

Associate Clinical Professor of Family Medicine

Dr. Null is from DeRidder, LA and graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport before completing her Family Medicine residency at Naval Hospital Pensacola in Pensacola, FL. She is board certified in Family Medicine and is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. She served her country in the United States Navy for 7 years and had an appointment as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences prior to coming to Memorial/LSUHSC FMRP. She was part of the teaching faculty at Naval Hospital Pensacola FMRP from 2004-2008. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the National Institute for Program Director Development. Her memberships include the Academy of Family Medicine Residency Directors, American Academy of Family Physicians, the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians, the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the Louisiana State Medical Society, the Calcasieu Parish Medical Society, and the Christian Medical/Dental Association. Dr. Null enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine with special interest in women’s health and dermatology.

Associate Program Director

Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine

Dr. Harrell is a native of Lake Charles. He received his bachelor’s in zoology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine in College Station. His postgraduate training in Family Medicine was completed at Memorial/LSUHSC FMRP in Lake Charles, where he served at the Calcasieu Community Clinic for the working poor. He did his fellowship in Sports Medicine at Baton Rouge General. Before coming back to Lake Charles Memorial, Dr. Harrell was the Program Director of the Baton Rouge General Family Medicine Residency Program as well as the Associate Program Director for their Primary Care Sports Medicine Program. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, Calcasieu Parish Medical Society, and Catholic Medical Association.

TakachTimothy Takach, DO

Associate Clinical Professor of Family Medicine

Dr. Takach grew up nearby in southeast Texas. Upon completion of high school, he joined the U.S. Army. Afterwards, Dr. Takach attended the University of Texas in San Antonio obtaining a bachelor of science degree in biology with a concentration in neuroscience. A few years later, he attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduation, he attended and completed residency at the LSU Family Medicine Residency Program in Lake Charles. Upon graduating, Dr. Takach joined the program as faculty. His interests outside of medicine include archery, woodworking, spending time with my dog, and reading.

Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine

Dr. Soileau is a LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans graduate who completed his Family Medicine residency at W.O. Moss Regional Hospital. This was followed by an Adolescent Medicine fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Birmingham and the University of Alabama School of Medicine at Birmingham for two years. He is board certified in Family Medicine and in Adolescent Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and in Addiction Medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He has focused his medical career on a variety of growth disorders as well as pre-pubescent mood disorders and anxiety disorders and learning problems such as ADHD.

Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine

Dr. Pham is board certified in Family Medicine. He received his degree from LSU in Baton Rouge and LSU Health Science Center School of Medicine in Shreveport. Dr. Pham completed his residency at our very own Memorial/LSUHSC FMRP where he served as chief resident from 2003-2004. Since 2005, he served with the Family Medical Center in Natchez, Mississippi, after a period of time spent at the South Cameron Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. Dr. Pham joined Memorial/LSUHSC FMRP as faculty in 2008. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine

A former Olympian, Dr. Gamborg received his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan and completed his Family Medicine residency at Regina General Hospital. Prior to joining Memorial/LSUHSC FMRP, he had a private Family Medicine practice in Sulphur, LA. He has over 25 years experience in caring for patients in both outpatient and hospital settings. The 6-foot, 4-inch Gamborg joined the Canadian Men’s Olympic Volleyball Team in 1977. The team was training, traveling and getting ready to qualify for the 1980 Moscow Olympics, but as history tells us, the U.S. and Canada decided to boycott the Moscow games. He left the team in 1979 and went to medical school.

Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine

Dr. Loewer graduated LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, and finished his residency as chief resident in his third year at Memorial/LSUHSC FMRP. From 2006 to 2013, he was the emergency room director at W.O. Moss Regional Hospital. At that point, he became part of our faculty. He has focused his medical career on mission medical work and helping patients in underprivileged communities of Southwest Louisiana. He is a member of the Christian Medical/Dental Association. Married with four kids, Dr. Loewer is heavily involved in his church, but when he needs a little down time he loves to golf and fish.

CourvilleCaroline Courville, MD

Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine

Originally from Lafayette, Dr. Courville received her undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Loyola University in New Orleans and her medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She then went on to complete her residency in pediatrics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she also served as an instructor of pediatrics. She is board certified in pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Courville is a physician leader in asthma quality improvement and has done research in smoking cessation. She has given presentations on the effects of environmental tobacco smoke exposure.

Photo of Dr. MurrayElizabeth Murray, MD

Dr. Murray graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge and obtained her medical degree from LSUHSC Shreveport. She trained in Pediatrics at LSUHSC New Orleans. Dr. Murray has been a pediatrician in private practice first serving in Covington, LA then caring for children at the Children’s Clinic of Southwest Louisiana in Lake Charles, LA. She is a board certified physician through the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Louisiana State Medical Society, and Jeff Davis Parish Medical Society.

DeWittDavid DeWitt, D. Min.

Assistant Professor of Behavioral Science

Reverend DeWitt serves an important spiritual role on our faculty. He went to Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, where he received his master's in divinity in 1985. He later obtained his doctorate in health care ethics from the Graduate Theological Foundation in 1997 in Donaldson, Indiana. His residency in clinical pastoral education took place in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1990 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital. For 15 years, he was the director of pastoral care at Lake Charles Memorial; now he is a full-time member of our faculty at Memorial/LSUHSC FMRP.
