We offer most surgical procedures, including:

• Robotic surgery- Depending on the procedure, robotic-assisted surgery may result in a shorter hospital stay, lower rate of complications, less post-operative pain and faster return to normal activity compared to traditional surgical options.
• Minimally invasive surgery– provides optimal outcomes due to small incisions, a rapid healing process, shorter hospital stay and more rapid return to normal activities. Endoscopy, and laparoscopy are utilized
• Same day surgery– Even though your stay with us may be a short one, we have streamlined our services into one centralized location for your convenience. From pre-admission to discharge, we have designed Same Day Surgery with you in mind. We routinely perform same-day surgery for umbilical and ventral hernia repairs and gallbladder surgeries.
• Inpatient surgery– For more acute illnesses, such as cancer and trauma surgeries, many times an inpatient stay is required. You can be assured that our dedicated staff will see that your stay is as comfortable and restful as possible while providing the care needed to get you on the road to recovery.

Dr. Darin Doumite brings specialized skills in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures and robotic surgery using the the da Vinci surgical system. This allows his patients to recover with less pain and quicker return to activity/work. His primary focus is complex hernia repair, gastric and colorectal cancer, gallbladder disease, thyroid and parathyroid disease and transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS) for rectal cancer.

Dr. Amanda Ellington is board-certified in general surgery with a focus in breast cancer and surgical breast disease. As Director of the High Risk Breast Clinic at Memorial, she has helped hundreds of women with elevated breast cancer risk and those diagnosed with breast cancer, through their health journey and to a successful outcome.

Dr. Richard Shimer serves as the trauma medical director at Memorial Hospital, the area’s only
designated Level III Trauma Center. He specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy and trauma surgeries.
