The Inpatient Adult Psychiatric Program at Lake Charles Memorial's Archer Institute works with a broad spectrum of psychiatric problems such as mood disorders, psychotic disorders, disruptive behaviors, and substance detoxification. The program offers inpatient crisis stabilization, short-term treatment, and comprehensive discharge planning for Lake Charles and southwest Louisiana residents.

The goals of our inpatient treatment are to diagnose the problem, stabilize a crisis and complete discharge planning. To accomplish this our patients receive excellent medical and nursing care focused on crisis/relapse prevention, problem solving skills development, cognitive behavioral therapies, medication compliance education and physical health regulation.
