As Memorial continues to grow in SWLA, so do our lab locations. Memorial
now offers locations throughout the Southwest Louisiana region from Sulphur
to Jennings. Memorial lab offers the ability for physicians to receive
immediate results through a wide range of testing - offering same day
services for results other facilities choose to send out to partner labs.
This in-house approach to laboratory testing allows Memorial to get your
results in the hands of your physician quicker - helping you get care faster.
The lab at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital offers a full spectrum of anatomic
and clinical pathology in Southwest Louisiana, using the most advanced
medical technology. Our laboratory is fully accredited by the College
of American Pathologists (CAP) and the American Association of Blood Banks
(AABB). Services are provided under the medical direction of a Board certified
pathologist, and our laboratory is staffed with certified Clinical Laboratory
Scientists.
Memorial Lab's blood bank and diagnostic services also helps support emergency
transfusion services and MALDI which helps identify infection causing
organisms faster. The Hematology lab team are trained to identify cells
that cause cancer and quickly provide oncology physicians with accurate
same day results.
In addition to providing care for patients, Memorial Labs also serves as
a teaching facility, accepting medical lab science students and phlebotomy
from educational institutions across Louisiana to receive hands-on training.
All of this contributes to addressing the healthcare needs of our community
with the highest quality of care - today and tomorrow.
